Pemenang Golden Globe Awards 2018

The 75th Annual Golden Globe Awards 

Sebuah ajang penghargaan untuk para insan film dan televisi Amerika Serikat, The 75th Annual Golden Globe Awards dihelat meriah di The Beverly Hilton, Beverly Hills, Los Angeles, California, Amerika Serikat pada Minggu (7/1/2018) malam atau Senin (8/1/2018) pagi waktu Indonesia. Acara yang telah memasuki tahun penyelenggaraan ke-75 ini menghadirkan Seth Meyers sebagai host dan disiarkan secara langsung oleh NBC. Golden Globe Awards merupakan ajang tahunan yang digagas oleh Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) yang didedikasikan untuk para pekerja di bidang film dan televisi.

James Franco berhasil menyabet penghargaan Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy setelah mengalahkan nama-nama seperti Hugh Jackman, Steve Carell, Ansel Elgort serta Daniel Kaluuya. Ini merupakan kemenangan pertama James Franco dalam Golden Globe Awards setelah dinominasikan sebanyak empat kali. Ia sukses atas perannya dalam film The Disaster Artist.

Adapun film yang mengantongi nominasi terbanyak tahun ini, The Shape of Water gagal meraih penghargaan tertinggi sebagai Best Motion Picture – Drama. Gelar tersebut diraih oleh film Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri. Total hanya dua piala yang berhasil dibawa pulang oleh film yang disutradarai Guillermo del Toro dari tujuh kategori yang dinominasikan yaitu Best Director dan Best Original Score.

Penyelenggara Golden Globe Awards tahun ini juga memberikan penghargaan khusus Cecil B. DeMille Award kepada Oprah Winfrey. Penghargaan tersebut diberikan oleh Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) atas kontribusi yang luar biasa Oprah Winfrey terhadap dunia hiburan.
