Michelle
Yeoh mendapatkan piala Oscar pertamanya untuk kategori Best Actress berkat
perannya di film Everything Everywhere All at Once sebagai
Evelyn Wang. Tidak hanya itu, Yeoh menjadi aktris Asia
pertama yang memenangkan kategori tersebut sepanjang sejarah Academy Awards.
Sebelumnya Michelle Yeoh baru saja berjaya di ajang Golden
Globe Awards ke-80 pada awal Januari lalu. Aktris asal Malaysia itu juga meraih
Golden Globe pertamanya untuk kategori Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture -
Musical or Comedy. Sementara itu aktor Brendan Fraser juga menerima Oscar
pertamanya sepanjang karier aktingnya berkat penampilannya yang mengesankan di
film Whale.
Diane Warren akhirnya mendapatkan Oscar di Governors
Awards setelah 13 kali menjadi nominasi. Pencipta dan penulis lagu tersebut
akan menerima Academy Honorary Awards
bersama Peter Weir, Euzhan Palcy. Sedangkan Michael J. Fox dianugerahi
Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award.
